Technology Department

The Technology Department operates as an internal service department to the City of Colby.

The staff provides technical services and products for City Department Heads, Staff, Elected Officials and Citizens.

Technology services include:

  • Network application and terminal server support including hardware and software updates and system backups.
  • Local and wide-area network infrastructure design, installation, maintenance and security.
  • Infrastructure support of remote sites including fiber, copper and wireless connections.
  • PC hardware and software support including desktops, laptops, local and networked printers, scanners, UPS systems and NAS drives.
  • Manage Norstar Phone systems.
  • Mobile and Portable radio programming, installation and maintenance.
  • Public Utilities SCADA and PLC systems.
  • Radio Automated Meter Reading system.
  • Maintain 24 X 7 on-call status.
