Overview
The Equipment Maintenance Department consists of a Foreman and one employee to provide maintenance and repairs on 14 cars, 25 pickups, 24 trucks and 56 other major pieces of equipment for the City of Colby. They track mileage on each vehicle, schedule oil changes and maintenance as required, and repair all mechanical breakdowns. All of those items are critical to the vehicle fleet owned by the City; however, one additional “big ticket item” is removing, replacing, and maintaining all radios and electronic equipment added to City vehicles. The Maintenance Department Foreman operates directly under the Director of Public Works .
